A careless Metro mistake led to a late-minute goal by Toni Nhleko, giving Dallas a 1:0 win. The Metros, playing without Amado Guevara, had their three-game winning streak and five-game league unbeaten run stopped.

With Guevara and Eddie Pope both gone with national team duty, Ricardo Clark and Kenny Arena started in their place. Cornell Glen, who was supposed to be out injured, also started and played the first half. He had the best Metro chance of the period, beating Dallas goalie Jeff Cassar to the ball, but shooting wide from close range as time was running out.

Sergio Galvan Rey and his newly-trimmed hair came up for Glen at halftime and had a wonderful scoring chance midway through the period, his point-blank header from a Bonseu pass going wide. With five minutes left in regulation, John Wolyniec found himself on a breakaway with only Cassar to beat, but the Dallas keeper came out well and blocked the ball.

And then in stoppage time, Jonny Walker made not one but two careless passes out of the box, Metro defense failed to clear, and when Dallas intercepted the latter attempt, an Oscar Pareja pass found Nhleko's head to give the Burn the victory. The Metros had a last-minute gasp to tie the game as Eddie Gaven was brought down in the box, but instead of a foul he was yellowed for diving.

On a day when the Metro clearly missed creativity in the upper third... Come back soon, Amado!

Lineup: Walker, Leitch, Arena, Parke, Bonseu, Clark, Gaven, Vaca, Magee, Glen, Wolyniec. Subs: Galvan Rey, Regan.
