The New York Red Bull Reserves wrapped up their 2007 home slate with a 3-1 victory at Giants Stadium on Saturday night. The Red Bulls were paced in this match by Georgetown University product Ricky Schramm, who had a goal in each half for New York.

The Red Bulls charged to an early 1-0 lead in the 4th minute when Randi Patterson headed home a John Wolyniec cross. Patterson came close to doubling the Red Bulls' lead in the 22nd minute but his shot was smothered by RSL's Chris Seitz, who made a diving save to smother Patterson's bid.

RSL got their first chance in the 29th minute as Hunter Freeman misplayed a Chris Lancos cross and fell to the feet of Jamie Watson whose chip sailed over the bar. The favor was returned by RSL on the ensuing goal kick as two RSL defenders challenged the same Jon Conway long ball. The result of their midair collision led to the ball ending up in front of Schramm, who went in on goal alone. But his shot hit the post and went wide, leaving the score 1-0 at halftime.

New York came out of the half quickly. A long ball from Sal Caccavale found Wolyniec on the left wing who cut it past a sliding RSL defender and his perfect cross found Schramm. His one touch finish gave the Red Bulls a 2-0 lead.

Down 2-0, Salt Lake started to apply pressure and the results were immediate. After a defensive clear, RSL's Robbie Findley collected a ball at the midfield line and started running at New York defender Kenny Bertz. After shifting the ball past Bertz, he slid a perfect pass to Kyle Brown who touched the ball past goalkeeper Danny Cepero cutting the lead to 2-1 in the 58th minute.

The game picked up in intensity as a few hard tackles were dished out by both sides. Atiba Harris, who already was carrying a yellow card, put a hard foul on Wolyniec from behind in the 58th minute. The Red Bulls the got their second goal in the 65th minute from Schramm as he converted a right footed shot from 20 yards out after receiving a long ball from Caccavale.

Three minutes later, Harris committed another ugly tackle on Red Bulls striker Jerrod Laventure, resulting in his ejection from the game. Laventure was unable to return and the match finished with both teams playing with ten men.
