At practice with Sinisa Ubiparipovic
November 12, 2008
MetroFanatic: Sinisa, you'll probably be going against your friend Dema Kovalenko.
Sinisa Ubiparipovic: It's definitely gonna be a special feeling, being such good friends and roommates last year. We gotta put that behind for 90 minutes.
MF: Dema has a few not so nice things to say about the current regime.
SU: Every single player has their own opinion. So he is entitled to his own opinion. If he wants to say something, then go ahead, but I don't think I can have any comment on that.
MF: So you came from wilderness the past couple of months, and now you're starting. What changed?
SU: Coach's decision. My performances in training, and some of the reserve games we've had.
MF: So before the playoffs, it was the coach's decision for you to stay on the bench?
SU: Well, obviously the coach has to make a decision every week, who plays and who is not playing. My job is to come in and to train every day and to train hard. At the end of the day, it's his decision. If he calls upon me, I'm ready.
MF: That pass you made to Dane Richards last weekend, can you talk a little about that.
SU: I saw Juan and Dane at the same time. Luckily, it went by Juan Pablo and straight into Dane's path.
MF: Sloooowly...
SU: I think he used his pace a little bit on that one too. (laughs)
MF: I've never seen him roof a shot like that.
SU: Yeah, I want to ask him, what did he use on that shot. As long as he uses it this week, I'll be happy.
