2009, and the decade that brought it, are over. And what do we have to show for it? One Eastern Conference Championship (regular season), one Western Conference Championship (postseason), one Preseason Championship (preseason, duh) and one La Manga Cup (oh, the glory).

It started with so much hope, as Clint Mathis energized the franchise and brought on the brink of success. That 2000 season is still the highlight of the decade, that it ended in complete disappointment under the stupefying leadership of Juan Carlos Osorio and Jeff Agoos.

Oh well. Let's hope the next decade -- and the next year -- is better than the one that preceded it.
