According to Norwegian website FVN, Metro has signed Estonian international Joel Lindpere. The left-sided midfielder spent the last three seasons in Norway with Tromso, but was not offered a contract by the club. In stepped Erik Soler and RBNY.

Soler initially denied that he was signing Lindpere. However, later in the day, the Estonian's agent proclaimed his client signed. "Joel has signed for New York," he said.

Prior to Tromso, Lindpere played for CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria, as well as a number of clubs in his home country. He has been capped over 70 times for Estonia, scoring six goals.
