NY passes in Re-Entry Draft, Angel goes to LA
December 15, 2010
RBNY decided not to take any players in the second stage of the Re-Entry Draft, but the biggest news was the player they lost. No, there was no chance Juan Pablo Angel was coming back next year, but his rights now belong to Los Angeles, where he will be reunited with his first MLS coach, Bruce Arena. The Galaxy, who traded up in the draft into Houston's spot, will now try to sign him to a contract for the upcoming year.
LA also took NY's Luke Sassano and subsequently traded him to Kansas City for the rights to Frankie Hejduk. Carey Talley was not taken by anyone.
