Sacir Hot hot to go pro
January 16, 2011
Sacir Hot, who spent years in the MetroStars/RBNY youth academy before going on to Boston College and the US Under-20 national team, could be the next homegrown player to make the big club. Or he could be going to Germany, reports MLSsoccer.com.
The defender, who scored two goals in 13 games as a sophomore, is currently on training/trial with Borussia Monchengladbach, the team of ex-Metro midfielder Michael Bradley. After that, he has another trial set up, with Borussia Dortmund.
"Borussia Monchengladbach are very interested since they are not doing so well in the league right now and are lacking defenders," Hot is quoted. "If everything goes right, I could potentially sign with them."
He adds, "I have been told that MLS and the Red Bulls are very interested in signing me as a homegrown player."
We'll see exactly how interested MLS is...
