Marsch NOT poached by Salzburg
January 12, 2017
According to Kristian Dyer in Metro, "League sources tell Metro that Marsch, head coach of New York, is currently on a flight to Los Angeles to join the coaching staff ahead of this week's MLS SuperDraft. The source also confirmed that Marsch 'will be the New York Red Bulls head coach in 2017.'"
RBNY posted on Twitter: "Jesse Marsch will be traveling to Los Angeles today to join the staff and prepare for MLS SuperDraft. Jesse will remain at the helm in 2017 to lead the charge towards the ultimate goal of bringing MLS Cup to Red Bull Arena."
"Since the new year I haven't been in Salzburg," Marsch said on Friday. "I have been in Portugal with Leipzig. There's been no contact with Salzburg. I was there before Christmas just to spend time with both clubs just to see what was going on there. I'm the New York Red Bulls coach. This whole thing that came out I can't figure out how to place it. Nothing's ever changed other than facilitating our relationship with our clubs over there. But I'm the New York Red Bulls coach."
