Daniel Royer named MLS Player of the Week

New York Red Bulls midfielder Daniel Royer has been named the Alcatel MLS Player of the Week for Week 20.

Royer started and played two games on the week, totaling three goals and one assist in 158 minutes for New York.

On July 19, the Austrian winger buried back-to-back goals in the 90' and 90'+1' minutes against the San Jose Earthquakes to cap off a big win for the Red Bulls, 5-1.

Three days later, Royer started and played 68 minutes in Minnesota where he scored the game-winning goal in the 16th minute, and assisted Bradley Wright-Phillips' goal in the second half en route to another Red Bulls win, 3-0.

Royer has eight goals and two assists this season and has scored in three consecutive games.
