The visiting New York Red Bulls II fell short to Louisville City FC, 2-1, Saturday at Slugger Field.
Louisville City FC scored the first goal of the game on a free kick cross from Oscar Jimenez to cutting attacker Paco Craig, who headed it past Red Bulls II goalkeeper Evan Louro in the 39th minute.
Red Bulls II forward Stefano Bonomo scored his first of the season, tying the game at one in the 58th minute. On the initial play, forward Zeiko Lewis led a touch pass to the middle for a streaking Florian Valot. Louisville goalkeeper Tim Dobrowolski came up with a huge save to his left, only to see Bonomo drill home the rebound.
In the 70th minute, Louisville attacker Luke Spencer, who was substituted in just prior, headed a corner kick past Red Bulls II goalkeeper Evan Louro.
Flemmings was a presence in front of the net tall. In the final minutes of the game Hassan Ndam scissor kicked a shot at Dobrowolski who came up with the save.
Despite giving up two goals, Red Bulls II Evan Louro finished the game with a six saves. He had huge saves in the 40th and 80th minute, keeping Louisville at a one-goal lead both times.
