Metro playoff scenarios (3 games left)
October 2, 2017

So, ahem, playoffs, right? Despite Metro's slump, they are look primed to make the postseason... this despite not winning since early August. Of course, if they do make the playoffs, they looked to be doomed to the 6th seed, and a 1-game road playoff. But first things first, how can they make it?

The scenario seems simple: Metro has 43 points with three games left. Montreal, New England, Orlando, and Philadelphia are all tied with 39 points with two games left. Those four teams max out at 45. Metro's game in hand is this weekend against Vancouver; none of the teams chasing them play. So, a win against the Whitecaps would get Metro to 46, meaning the playoffs would be clinched.
