December 21, 2017 (Official Press Release)

D.C. United selected forward Gonzalo Veron in Stage Two of the MLS Re-Entry Draft on Thursday afternoon. Veron spent two and a half years with the Red Bulls as a Designated Player.

"On behalf of everyone at the New York Red Bulls, I'd like to thank Gonzalo for his service to the club," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Denis Hamlett. "We wish him and his family all the best moving forward."

Veron, 27, made 60 appearances in the regular season and 82 across all competitions since joining the Red Bulls in August of 2015. The Argentine forward scored 12 goals and added eight assists across all competitions.

The Red Bulls declined Veron's option for the 2018 season.
