Kemar Lawrence gets green card
April 28, 2018 (Official Press Release)

New York Red Bulls defender Kemar Lawrence has received his United States Green Card and no longer occupies an international spot on the Red Bulls roster. Additionally, Homegrown defender Kyle Duncan has been placed on season-ending injury reserve.

Lawrence, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, joined the Red Bulls in 2015 and has been a mainstay at outside back, making 71 appearances in MLS with two goals and 10 assists. The left back is also an integral part of the Jamaican National Team, representing the Reggae Boyz in every major tournament, with 45 senior team appearances since 2014.

Duncan, 20, recently underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL. Duncan suffered the injury in an early April match against Orlando City SC. The New York native had started all four MLS matches up to that point.

"The injury was unfortunate for Kyle, but this move gives us flexibility to add to our roster," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Denis Hamlett. "Kyle's surgery went well and he has already started rehab work with our training staff. Now Kyle can focus on returning to full health, and we look forward to seeing him back on the field."
