RBNY II blows lead to Cincy, 2:1

New York Red Bulls II suffered their first home defeat of the season falling, 2-1, to FC Cincinnati Saturday. The team was previously unbeaten in fives games at Red Bull Arena in 2018.

Scott Levene and Wahab Ackwei made their professional debuts for NYRB II. Levene started at goalkeeper and Ackwei as center back, playing the full 90.

Amando Moreno scored in the seventh minute of the match, assisted by Jared Stroud. It was his second game in a row with a goal and his fifth of the season.

Stroud tallied an assist for his second straight game and now leads the team with four assists.

Brian White had the opportunity to give NYRB II a 2-0 lead in the 63rd minute, via the penalty spot, after a handball in the box, but his attempt skied over the crossbar.

Cincinnati would respond with two goals in a 12-minute span in the 65th and 77th minute to seal the three points.
