MetroStars defenders Mark Semioli (right hamstring strain) and Daniel Hernandez (fractured right kneecap) were placed on the Injured Reserve List last night.

Both players were placed on the IR retroactive to April 17. Players must remain on the IR for a minimum of 15 days and are eligible to be taken off no sooner than May 2.

Hernandez, who fractured his right kneecap in the 1-1 tie at Colorado, is expected to rejoin the team in mid-June.

Semioli, who has yet to see action this season due to a second degree hamstring strain in his right leg, will be re-evaluated by the MetroStars medical staff on May 2.

Due to their unavailability and Clint Mathis and Richie Williams with the national team, the team has called up defenders Mersim Beskovic (Long Island) and Jeff Rigby (Connecticut). Both players will be on the bench and available, if needed.
