Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC defeated New York Red Bulls II, 2-1, to climb up to fourth in the Eastern Conference table and end New York's unbeaten streak at home.

New York started off the sharper of the two sides, pressing Pittsburgh in their own half and eventually causing the turnover that led to their lone goal. In the 20th minute, Red Bulls II forward Tom Barlow received a pass from midfielder Vincent Bezecourt after the turnover and produced a well-placed finish past Riverhounds SC goalkeeper Kyle Morton.

As the half wore on, Pittsburgh stayed persistent on both ends of the field and got their goal off a corner kick as defender Joe Greenspan got a touch on the ball from midfielder Kenardo Forbes in the 36th minute.

The two clubs continued to duel well into the second half, but it was Pittsburgh who landed the ultimate blow when, in the 84th minute, midfielder Anthony Velarde played in forward Neco Brett on the break. Brett did the rest, as he cut inside and calmly slotted home past Red Bulls II goalkeeper Evan Louro to earn all three points.
