New York Red Bulls II defeated Huntsville City FC 2-1 on Friday, May 26 at Joe Davis Stadium. Red Bulls II have now won three matches in a row for the first time since August of 2019.
Just nine minutes in, Ronald Donkor put New York in front after finishing a cross that was sent in by Oladayo Thomas. Donkor's goal was his first with New York in MLS NEXT Pro.
Huntsville struck back in the 18th minute after a Tyler Freeman free kick deflected off Chrisnovic N'sa and found the back of the net.
Ibrahim Kasule gave New York the lead once again in the 70th minute after converting a penalty shot that the Ugandan drew himself. It was his first goal this season.
