This season has not been great, to say the least. But there are glimpses of hope, here and there. Sadly, they are just glimpses, as more often than not, reality sinks in. Tonight that reality sunk to the lowest point of the season, as Metro, playing at home, was outran, out-coached, and outscored by Orlando, 3:0.

Orlando opened the scoring on a counter-attack in the 18th minute, when a ball was dropped behind the Metro defense in a move that should be familiar at this point. They doubled the lead in the 52nd, after VAR gave a penalty kick on a Sean Nealis foul. This happened moments after Andres Reyes was given his walking papers after a second yellow. The third came on a counter-attack in the 72nd, with most Metro players caught upfield on a set piece.

On the offense... there was no offense. Troy Lesesne's supposedly clever idea of playing Dru Yearwood in attacking midfield continues to puzzle, as the Englishman is a terrible turnover machine. Tom Barlow, now somehow at left wing, continues to frustrate time after time. Cory Burke continues to prove he is not a starter. The incompetence in the attacking third might not be as bad as earlier with Gerhard Struber, but it's close.

So now, after a month of nonstop matches, Metro takes a two-and-a-half week breather. Will they recover from this debacle? They can't sink any lower, right?
