On February 4, 2001, 23 years ago, MetroFanatic posted its first ever story: the trade of Mike Ammann to DC for Richie Williams. Trading away Ammann made Tim Howard the unquestionable starter, as he played every minute of the 2001 season on his way to winning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year.

Of course, Howard is already in the MetroFanatic Hall of Fame. Joining him today is a man long overdue, a man who also played every minute of that 2001 season. A member of the MetroFanatic all-2000s team (that's 2000-09), a key defensive cog, backflip goal celebrator, blogging pioneer, and now an esteemed member of the broadcasting team... the one and only Steve Jolley!
