Martin Klinger placed on IR

MetroStars rookie forward Martin Klinger (Nike Pro 40) has been placed on the Injured Reserve List with a left hamstring tear.
The striker will miss the next three games, as players placed on the IR must remain on the list for a minimum of 15 days. He will be evaluated by the MetroStars medical staff on Thursday, May 10.
Klinger, 19, was selected by the MetroStars with the 46th pick in the 2001 MLS Superdraft.
The Kearny, New Jersey product made his MLS debut on Saturday, April 21, as a 70th minute substitute for Rodrigo Faria in the 3-1 loss to Tampa Bay.
Klinger joins Daniel Hernandez (fractured right knee cap), Billy Walsh (right foot stress fracture), and Mark Semioli (2nd degree right hamstring strain) on the Injured Reserve List.
