Metro won in preseason for the first time, topping Hartford (not to be confused with NYCFC; this is the Hartford Athletic that plays in the USL), 2:0. Dennis Gjengaar and Mohammed Sofo had the Metro goals.

This was the only preseason game scheduled to be played in New Jersey, as the team is due to depart to take part at the Coachella Valley Invitational in California.
