Last Week: It's not close. John Wolyniec beats Seth Stammler, 71% to 29%, becoming the MetroFanatic Survivor for 2009! Wolyniec, who was very close to being voted out in Week 7, defeats many favorites in his run to the title. In this horrible year that can't seem to end, let's applaud the Staten Island Ronaldo for being one of the few Metros who comes to play every week, no matter what the score is -- something he's been doing during his entire Metro career.
Welcome to MetroFanatic Survivor! Last year, Dave van den Bergh defeated Jon Conway in the final to win the fifth edition of the competition. This year, van den Bergh becomes the first champion who will not be given a chance to repeat.
We started out with 20 players, but with the World Tribe losing four in a row, a reshuffling had to be made. Juan Pietravallo, Jorge Rojas, Khano Smith, and Dominic Oduro are gone. The remaining 16 are now divided into two new tribes: Guevara (born in or before 1982) and Gaven (born after 1982). Each week, vote off the player you think least deserves to be the Ultimate Metro Survivor. Just like in the real Survivor, each week a tribe will be granted immunity and will be expempt from the vote. The immunity will be chosen by MetroFanatic and will usually go to the tribe which has this week's Metro of the Week (or to that player individually). When the tribes dwindle, they will merge into the Parke Tribe and the Ultimate Metro Survivor will be crowned!
