Frederic Meyrieu, others join Metro camp
March 3, 2003
French central midfielder Frederic Meyrieu has joined the MetroStars pre-season roster. Meyrieu, 35, has spent the last 5 seasons with FC Metz, before being released when Metz was relegated. He also played with Marseille, Le Havre, Bordeaux, Toulon, Lens, and Sion. Joining him in camp are ex-Metro Jim Rooney, forward Derk Droze, and defender Morris Pagniello. Giovanni Savarese and Torres Mestre are the only prior non-roster invitees to stick with the squad.
Bob Bradley on midfielder Daniel Garnero returning to Argentina: "Daniel did not play for 16 months and his professionalism is excellent. We are not certain if this is the right player for our team at this time, but we were very excited that he would come join us for this preseason. He is an excellent professional and a good person. It has been a pleasure having him around the team."
Bob Bradley on Mario Rosas leaving the team: "Mario Rosas is a young player who we feel has talent, but we felt we needed to find a player that fits our team better. We made the decision so he can likely pursue other opportunities."
