March 17, 2003 (Official Game Summary)
The MetroStars tied the CEFAR Select Team 1-1 today in a scrimmage in their first game in Argentina on the two-week preseason trip. MetroStars Head Coach Bob Bradley continues to invite players to train with the team in order to continue his rebuilding process. MetroStars 18-year-old forward Mike Magee tallied in the 28th minute to put the Metros up 1-0. In the 77th minute, CEFAR was awarded a penalty kick and Ogolila converted the attempt to knot the score.
"We played two different groups of players in each half," said Bradley. "By playing these many players, we get a chance to look at everyone again in a game atmosphere. I thought the team today created some good opportunities and I was pleased to see that."
Former MetroStars defender Diego Sonora played for the Metros in the match as a guest player.
