Metros get draft pick for Andy Williams

The MetroStars today acquired a conditional 2004 SuperDraft selection from the Chicago Fire in exchange for the rights to Jamaican midfielder Andy Williams. The MetroStars did not pick up the option on Williams for the 2003 MLS season, yet still retained his rights. Williams played 19 games for the Metros, starting 17, and scoring two goals and 13 assists for 17 points.
The Metros acquired the Williams from the New England Revolution on May 24, 2002, along with forward Mamadou Diallo and defender/midfielder Ted Chronopoulos in exchange for defender/midfielder Daniel Hernandez, forward Diego Serna, and midfielder/defender Brian Kamler.
