Argentines arrive; Moore, Matteo cut

Newest MetroStars defender Juan Forchetti and midfielder Jose Galvan arrived from Argentina and will train with the team tomorrow at Giants Stadium starting at 10:30 a.m. The 22-year-olds will be available for the MetroStars contest with the Dallas Burn.
To make room on the roster for the Argentine pair, the MetroStars waived midfielders Jeff Matteo and Jeff Moore. Matteo was acquired by the Metros along with defender Chris Leitch in a pre-season trade with the Columbus Crew in exchange for the rights to midfielder Ross Paule. Moore played 18 games and registered three assists during the 2002 season, since being acquired with a sixth round pick in the 2002 MLS SuperDraft.
Forchetti will wear number 6, while Galvan will don jersey number 12.
