Well, the luck has finally run out. After coming back to earn overtime points in four straight league games, the Metros were shutout 1:0 at Colorado. Amado Guevara was shown the door in the 28th minute as this time ten men weren't enough to pull out a win. The loss marks the first time that the Metros didn't score since the first game of the season.

The Metros got back two first-choice defenders as Eddie Pope returned for his first game after a two-month long absence. Craig Ziadie re-clamed his space on the right after starting for Jamaica in the Gold Cup. Steve Jolley also made a return, coming in at halftime for Pope. After a strong game in relief of Jaime Moreno last week, Mike Magee replaced the Bolivian in the starting lineup.

The lone goal of the game was scored in the 25th minute as ex-Metro Mark Chung rose (!) to a perfect Chris Henderson cross to knock it in with his head. And just three minutes later, the tide of the game changed as Guevara was sent off for pushing down a Seth Trembly with two hands.

It took the Metros until midway through the second half to find some legs, and they created a number of quality chances, mostly off free kicks. Magee had a terrific game, but it went for naught. The Metros enter the all-star break tied with Chicago on top of the East.

Lineup: Walker, Bartolomeu, Pope, Addo, Ziadie, Clark, Williams, Lisi, Guevara, Magee, Wolyniec. Subs: Jolley, Moreno, Gaven.
