After looking like winners for most of the day, the Metros let one slip. An awful call by Kevin Terry on Richie Williams in the 90th minute gave the Revs a 1:1 tie after Cate converted the penalty kick. How awful was the call? Even MLSnet is saying that Williams was "judged to have brought down" Johnny Torres. "Judged".
Playing before a very silent Foxboro crowd, the Metros took a lead in the 25th minute. Clint Mathis found Rodrigo Faria with a perfect through ball for the rookie's second goal of the year. Faria came on the field just seven minutes earlier, subbing in for Tab Ramos, who sprained his right ankle.
The rest of the game was fairly evenly matched, with Tim Howard playing great for the Metros, denying the Revs once and again. The Metros finished with ten men, as Pedro Alvarez was yet again ejected for his second yellow card. Mathis will miss the next game as well, after receiving his fifth yellow of the season. Smartly enough, he would have missed the game anyway, because of his time with the US National Team.
Lineup: Howard, Perez, Petke, Jolley, Chung, Alvarez, Williams, Villegas, Ramos, Mathis, Comas. Subs: Faria, Semioli, Shak.
