The Metros sure picked a wrong time to go into a slump. They lost two in a row for the first time all year, and although whether or not they get home-field advantage for the first round is not that important, the quality of the team's play in the past three games is. This time, they let New England walk all over them in the first half, recovered in the second to make it close, before falling 2:1.

Juan Forchetti made his first start in a long time, playing for the injured Eddie Pope. Tim Regan, Joey DiGiamarino, and John Wolyniec were also new starters from Wednesday.

New England struck in the 15th minute, as ex-Metro Brian Kamler had his way with Chris Leitch on the Metros' right wing. After Jonny Walker failed to hold the shot and Forchetti failed to recover it, Dario Fabbro sent it into the net for an easy goal.

The backbreaker came in the 37th minute, as Pat Noonan received the ball at midfield, and completely abused Steve Jolley, taking him all the way down the pitch, the finish just a formality.

Andrzej Juskowiak scores his first is a Metro in the 75th minute, after a nice through pass by fellow sub Mark Lisi. Juskowiak juked a Rev defender, and sent a low shot the beat Matt Reis to his right. The Metros had a number of chances to tie it late, but came up short.

The loss pushes the Revs into a tie with the Metros on points, them winning the tie-breaker. If the Metros fail to beat them in a week, they can fall as low as fourth pending on the result of the two remaining DC Scum games.

Lineup: Walker, DiGiamarino, Forchetti, Jolley, Leitch, Clark, Regan, Gaven, Guevara, Wolyniec, Mathis. Subs: Lisi, Juskowiak, Magee.
