The MetroStars are fit to be tied. For the third straight game, the Metros ended up with one point, this time drawing New England, 1:1. Cornell Glen scored his third goal of the year to answer Pat Noonan's tally and push the Metros into a tie with Chicago at top of the East, at least until Fire's game Sunday against Columbus.

With Jeff Parke back from injury, last week's good performance was not enough to save Tenywa Bonseu from the bench. The rest of the lineup stayed the same.

Metro killer Pat Noonan got the Revs on the board in the 7th minute. After New England got the ball into the box, Eddie Pope got in the way of the shot, but the deflection fell to Noonan, who had no problems putting it in.

The game was really a tale of two halves; while the Revs owned the first, the Metros really turned it on in the second. In the 55th minute, Mark Lisi sent in a ball to Glen at the edge of the box. The Trinidadian fought off two New England players and calmly slotted the ball past the onrushing Matt Reis to tie the game.

Jonny Walker was terrific in nets for the Metros, making a number of key saves to preserve the tie, including a key foot save on a Taylor Twellman breakaway. At the end, the result fit the game, and although getting a point on the road is nice, the Metros are winless in five heading into a two-game home stretch.

Mike Magee made his first appearance since game 2 as a second-half substitute. Sergio Galvan Rey did not make the trip.

Lineup: Walker, Leitch, Pope, Parke, Ziadie, Lisi, Gaven, Vaca, Guevara, Glen, Taylor. Subs: Magee, Clark, Wolyniec.
