As of today, the MetroStars have a grand total of zero draft picks in the new four-round MLS SuperDraft on January 14th. However, that all might change very soon. The picks were all traded away: first rounder belongs to Los Angeles as an aftershock of the Bob Bradley acquisition and the Eddie Gaven trade; the second is Chicago's, for Seth Stammler; the third and fourth are San Jose's, for Andrzej Juskowiak (oh, the memories!) and Jeff Agoos.

However, the Joselito Vaca and Jaime Moreno deals can yield the Metros some early picks in this draft. DC owes the Metros a first rounder in 2005 or 2006 (Metro choice); DC has the 12th and last first round pick this year. They also owe a top 30 pick in 2005 or a top 20 in 2006 (DC's choice; as of today, they don't have any picks other than that first rounder in the top 30).

The MetroStars owe a 2005 first rounder to Dallas for Vaca; but they can also roll it over to 2006, but will also owe Dallas a second rounder that year as well.

According to BigAppleSoccer.com, Bob Bradley has not decided how to handle the draft pick situation yet. But what is obvious is that he is trying to get the youngest team in MLS history older, not younger.
