Michael Bradley officially signs with Heerenveen
January 26, 2006
The Bradley era is officially over. Michael Bradley became the youngest ever MLS player to be sold, when the 18-year was transferred to Dutch club Heerenveen. He is now part of a select group of MetroStar player to move abroad for a transfer fee, joining Antony De Avila, Shaun Bartlett, Mamadou Diallo, and Tim Howard.
It's an amazing turnaround for the youngster, whose head was being called for by fans and media alike early in the season. Despite the naysayers, Bradley's lone season with Metro proved to be solid, if not spectacular, and the goal that put Metro in the playoffs should be remembered for years to come. He showed poise, confidence, and dedication not often found in players ten years older (are you listening, Amado Guevara?)
Best of luck, Michael.
