MetroStars drew 2-2 with fellow MLS side Chivas USA today at The Home Depot Center's main stadium in the club's eighth scrimmage of the 2006 preseason. Chivas USA went up 1-0 in the 25th minute following a Jeff Parke own goal, but MetroStars would draw level five minutes later, Chris Henderson beating goalkeeper Brad Guzan with a looping shot.

Chivas USA head coach Bob Bradley made wholesale changes for the second half, and in the 52nd minute MetroStars went up 2-1 with a strike by Youri Djorkaeff. However, Chivas USA would pull even in the 65th, when Jesus Ochoa beat Tony Meola on a penalty kick following a foul inside the area on Estuardo Sanchez.
