Tony Meola, who made his international debut in 1988, earned his 100th cap as the United States tied Jamaica 1:1 in Cary, North Carolina. Meola allowed a single goal, on a breakaway in the fourth minute. He has not appeared for the national team since 2002 and is considered a long shot to make the 23-man roster for the World Cup in Germany. Meola backstopped the US at the 1990 and 1994 tournaments and was third choice in 2002.

Meola is the ninth player in US history to break the 100-cap barrier, joining ex-Metros Jeff Agoos and Marcelo Balboa (unfortunately, we have to count the latter as an ex-Metro).
