Peguero suspended two games

The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee today suspended New York Red Bulls forward Jean-Philippe Peguero for two games and fined him $750 for violent conduct in the 21st minute of the Red Bulls match versus the Columbus Crew on Wednesday, June 28.

Peguero's suspension is scheduled to be served over the next two games. New York travels to face the New England Revolution on July 1 at Gillette Stadium and the Los Angeles Galaxy on July 4 at the Home Depot Center.

Under the terms of the CBA agreement, the Players Union may submit an appeal to the Commissioner for any discipline imposed as a result of an on-field incident resulting in a fine $750 or higher and/or a suspension of two games or more. Upon receipt of the appeal, the Commissioner will designate a time and a place for a hearing to be held as soon as practicable following receipt by the League of the Union's notice of appeal. A suspension shall not be postponed pending appeal.
