The Columbus Crew Reserves got goals from Ryan Coiner, Kie Kamara and Knox Cameron to down the New York Red Bulls Reserves 3-1 on Sunday, August 20, at The Crew's training facility in Obetz.
It was The Crew Reserves first win of the year after starting out the year 0-6-0. The New York Reserves fell to 3-5-1.
New York drew first blood in the 24th minute when Blake Camp knocked home a rebound off a John Wolyniec shot that was saved by Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum.
But The Crew answered quickly as Ryan Coiner tied the game in the 33rd minute, blasting home a loose ball that had deflected off Jon Conway's hands after a cross by March Burch. The score was tied at one at the half.
Kei Kamara put Columbus on top for good in the 53rd minute after sending a rocket past Conway from 20 yards out. Knox Cameron iced the game in the 86th minute, finishing a long pass from Eric Vasquez.
