The hernia bug bites Schopp
April 10, 2007
Welcome to the club, Markus Schopp. The Austrian winger has been sidelined indefinitely with a hernia injury, joining the ever-growing list of Metro players. Earlier in the preseason, Schopp was sidelined with a groin/hip flexor strain, but this looks like a new setback for the blond.
The list of Metro players who have suffered a hernia injury over the past five years include Clint Mathis, Mike Magee, Eddie Gaven, Chris Leitch, Ante Razov, Mike Ueltschey, Marvell Wynne, Mark Lisi (twice), Carlos Mendes, and now Schopp.
In other injury news, BigAppleSoccer reports that Magee will be out until July, as his blown MCL was not diagnosed sooner because of mistakes by the doctors.
