Stadium design details revealed
November 16, 2007
So what's the deal with the new redesign of Red Bull Park that is pushing back its building? A poster on the MetroFanatic boards has revealed the following details, as well as the rendering of the proposed stadium:
If the full design is to be completed by the end of this year, construction is scheduled to end in June 2009.
The new design has no stage, full seating all around.
Stadium now has a wavy translucent roof that covers all seating. The West side (main entrance) has a flatter translucent roof.
Number of suites has been drastically reduced. Only two levels of suites along the West touchline.
There is no upper bowl seating on the West side because of the suites.
It doesn't look like there is any prep for future suites on other sides.
Player entrance is on the West touchline. There is club seating each side of mid-field on the West side, but the press is right next to the entrance tunnel.
Locker rooms and operations offices are on first floor of West side.
Press room and equipment is second floor of West side.
Pub is located on the third floor behind the club seating with direct access.
Club for suites is on fourth floor of West side behind the suites.
Real grass field.
Front wall of seating is only seven yards from the touchlines.
