Metro parts ways with Blake Camp
November 28, 2007
Midfielder Blake Camp was the lone Metro waived today in lieu of the league's waiver draft to take place Thursday. Camp was taken by the MetroStars 41st overall in the 2006 SuperDraft out of Duke, but saw limited action with the team.
In 2006, Camp played in only three league matches, totaling 36 minutes. He did feature in every match for the reserves, and scored a team-leading four goals. In 2007, a preseason injury sidelined Blake for a large part of the campaign, and he ended up not playing a single minute for the first team. His contribution was limited to just five reserve matches, which he spent mostly in defense due to the team's lack of healthy defenders.
Metro has the 7th pick in the waiver draft.
