The New York Red Bulls Reserves earned a 3-0 win over the Chicago Fire Reserves on a rainy Sunday morning at Ramapo High School. Sinisa Ubiparipovic, John Wolyniec and Sainey Touray tallied goals for the hosts. The match was a make-up game for the teams' postponed game on May 25.
New York took the lead in the 29th minute. Midfielder David Roth slid the ball to Wolyniec, who hit a curling cross into the box. Ubiparipovic was on hand to one-time it in past goalkeeper Nick Noble from 10 feet away. Chicago's best chance came eight minutes later when Marco Pappa's left-footed free kick was punched away by goalkeeper Terry Boss.
The Red Bulls doubled their lead seven minutes after halftime after an errant Chicago clearance fell to Wolyniec, who knocked it home from an acute angle for his seventh Reserve League goal of 2008.
Touray completed the scoring in the 63rd minute when he headed in a Wolyniec cross from inside the six-yard box.
