What game was Osorio watching?
April 7, 2009
We're not gonna get on Juan Carlos Osorio's case just yet. Sure, no Metro player has scored a goal in three games, the team has one point and is dead last... but it's early. Still time to recover. In theory.
But one thing bothers us. It's Osorio's quote after the Fire game. "I think throughout the 90 minutes we made the extra man count and created enough chances to tie or even win this game."
Excuse us? With all due respect, Juan Carlos... Really? Really?
We can think of one good chance Metro had the entire game... Dominic Oduro kicking at the ball and Jon Busch. There were a couple of other misses, but just that... a couple. There was no sustained pressure. There was no evidence that Metro was the team playing with a man up for 75 minutes. There were no big saves for Busch to make; in fact Metro totaled four shots on goal in the entire game.
All right... We're gonna calm down. Osorio is a tactical genius, after all. He'll get it together. Right? Right?
