Osorio's team once again mastered by Chicago

A year and a half ago, RBNY gave up a king's ransom to sign Juan Carlos Osorio away from Chicago. Five games later, the tactical genius' record against his former team stands at zero wins, five losses. Perhaps it should be called a fool's ransom instead. Today, Metro lost to the Fire 1:0, plunging New York even further to the depths of the Eastern Conference.
Carlos Johnson's injury led to Jeremy Hall reclaiming the right back spot. Jorge Rojas' suspension left a hole a left midfield, a hole the tactical genius filled with... Macoumba Kandji, who has been indifferent at best in previous starts at the position. John Wolyniec took Kandji's spot up top.
Metro had the run of play in the first half, with a blast by Wolyniec and a header by Juan Pablo Angel saved by the Fire's Jon Busch. Of course, run of play is meaningless, when it's the opposing team that scores. Which is what Chicago did, in the last minute of the half, Chris Rolfe making Metro pay by slicing the ball through the penalty area and past Jon Conway.
Metro had their chances in the second as well, but they all turned to waste. Sinisa Ubiparipovic wasted walking in on the net along the sideline, Angel wasted a breakaway, and sub Dane Richards wasted two brave runs by following up with awful decisions when he got to the box. Danleigh Borman almost tied in stoppage time, but his header was stopped by Busch.
At this point, the results speak for themselves. 11 games, two wins. Shutout six times.
Fool's ransom it is.
