Shut up, Jeff Agoos. Just please shut up.
July 27, 2009
RBNY Sporting Director Jeff Agoos should really learn to keep his mouth shut. In an interview during the 4:0 loss to Colorado he said that individually, this is a better team than last year. Today, he told the following gem to the New York Post:
"The expectation that went into league play was higher than what we've produced. The expectations haven't changed what that should be, and we have not lived up to those expectations -- so far."
Let's address the first point first. No, last year's team wasn't anything special, but it did manage to win 10 games in the regular season. This year's team has won... TWO. What does that say about these players? They have failed in every area of the field, week in and week out.
No, the crux of the matter here is that Agoos is protecting his behind. HE acquired good players, so it's not HIS fault that they're not playing well together. As. If. No, seriously, as. If. Good players? Who? Khano Smith (benched and bitching about playing time)? Alfredo Pacheco (burned week after week)? Carlos Johnson (fastest red card in league history)? Dominic Oduro (oh, he got dropped already -- who did we give up for him again)? Leo Krupnik (at fault for three goals on his debut)? WHO? Fail, fail, fail, fail, fail. Not amount of Agoos' lies will cover that.
And as for that second comment... "so far"? Excuse me? "So far"? What the hell is that's supposed to mean? The team is 2-15-4. They are in the middle of a 12-game streak without a win, the worst in league history. "So far"? What do you mean, Mr. Agoos, the team can actually match your lofty expectations? Let's see, if they win out (ha! don't laugh), they would be 11-15-4. Four more losses than wins! Is that your expectations? And who do you think it stupid enough to fall for your lies, and backpedaling?
Please, Mr. Agoos. Keep your mouth shut and hope the Austrian overlords are foolish enough to keep your for another year. We hope to God they aren't.
