Media Day with Jeremy Hall
March 16, 2010
MetroFanatic: Jeremy, last year you played a lot of right back out of necessity. How would you assess your performance?
Jeremy Hall: That's a good question. There were some good moments and obviously some not-so-good moments. I definitely learned a lot about being a right back. It gave me a chance to get on the field. It helped out confidence-wise. As a rookie, you don't know what to expect. I didn't think I was gonna be a right back. At the time, coach had a lot of faith in me to put me back there. I embraced it.
MF: So this preseason, they have a bunch of guys trying out, and you might end up at right back again!
JH: Yeah... I'm definitely familiar with the position since I put in a lot of games last year. In the beginning, Hans played me in the midfield and saw that I can play there, which was good for me. But we got nobody at right back, and it feels good to know that they have confidence in me to keep putting me back there.
MF: But if you had a choice, where would you play?
JH: If i had a choice, I just want to be on the field.
MF: Come on, everyone says that! But if it was up to you?
JH: (hesitant)
MF: You wanna get up there, right? Score some goals?
JH: Oh yeah, obviously, everyone wants to score some goals. That's awesome. Especially to score goals in this stadium is gonna be an unbelievable feeling. I can't wait for the first one to go in for us, just to hear the reaction of the fans. I know I'll get goosebumps.
MF: It's a little improvement over Giants Stadium.
JH: Just a little bit. This stadium is top notch. Last year, we go to Salt Lake, Colorado, beautiful stadiums too, but this one just blows them out of the park. It's just gonna be a great atmosphere. I know the fans have been wanting this for a long time, for it to finally come true and be built, to actually train in it today... just very special to be a part of it.
