It took Juan Carlos Osorio and Jeff Agoos a year and a half to get Ernst Oebster to come to Metro. It took Erik Soler and Hans Backe a couple of months to send him back to his homeland.

According to Austria's Nachrichten, Oebster has been let go. "I have absolutely no problem with it, even happy," the midfielder is quoted as saying. On his stay with Metro, he adds, "I am richer by a huge life experience. I would do exactly the same again. Not everyone gets the chance to play in New York."
