It's not often that one's chance to redeem himself comes so soon after failure. And it's not often that one follows through on that chance. But not tonight. For Bouna Coundoul followed up last week's debacle by turning into a wall, and Juan Pablo Angel followed up a penalty kick miss by firing home a 90th minute winner -- also from the spot. Metro 2 (Angel had the other goal as well), Dallas 1. Redemption is ever so sweet.

The lone change from last week's game was Salou Ibrahim making his first start, as Mac Kandji slid into Sinisa Ubiparipovic's slot on the left wing.

Early on, Metro looked asleep. Dallas attacked, attacked, and attacked, and it paid off ten minutes into the match. Off a corner kick, an unmarked Heath Pearce crossed the ball to an unmarked Dax McCarty, who easily headed it in.

Metro settled a bit after the goal, and in the 22nd minute, it looked like Angel tied the game, taking a through ball and slotting a ball past Dario Sala. Somehow, he was called offside (note to the assistant ref: when the two players are even, the advantage goes to the attacker). And after Ibrahim and Kandji wasted numerous chances, Metro went into halftime down a goal.

Nine minutes into the second half, it almost became down two. But Coundoul made the first of what will be a series of amazing saves, robbing David Ferreira from point blank range. Metro sent it down the field, and Joel Lindpere walked into the box, centered the ball back to Juan Pablo, and the Cherubic Assassin side-footed the ball into the left corner for his first of a year and a tied match.

And then it was Bouna Time. Oh yes, Bouna Time. For the same goalkeeper we rightfully bashed a week ago was terrific tonight. Stopping a Dallas breakaway in one instance, pouncing on the ball in another, he did everything in his power to keep the match tied.

But tied it almost didn't stay. For in the 65th minute Kandji was chopped down to the box, the referee pointed to the spot, and Angel went to his left... only for Sala to make the save.

But tonight is about redemption. So when sub Sinisa Ubiparipovic was chopped down in the edge of the box in the 90th minute, and a second penalty kick was awarded, Angel could do no wrong. Sala again guessed left, but Juan Pablo roofed into the right upper 90, and just like that, Metro had a terrific comeback victory. It was Angel's 50th goal in all competitions.
