Angel: "If I have to move on, I will move on"
September 28, 2010

In an interview with the New York Post, Juan Pablo Angel addressed his possible departure after the season.

"(If) you ask me would I like to stay here, I would because I get along with everybody here. I've been expecting a team like this for years and finally we brought it. But if I have to move on, I will move on. I wish them well. I think (my departure) is very likely; but having said that, I've been grateful for every minute that I've been here."

"I have the rest of the year to play. I've enjoyed a phenomenal year; performance-wise I'm still producing what I'm supposed to produce. What happens afterwards, there are some things I can't control. I will tell you straight I have enjoyed every minute of my time here. I can tell you whatever decision is made will be made in the best interest of the team."

"I do see myself playing somewhere. I'm not saying four, five years, but I do see myself playing a year or two, that's for sure."

"I want to be playing out there all the time. That's the way I am. I've played through injuries and if you look at the record I have here, I hardly miss a game. If you ask me, I wouldn't like to rest a game, especially now with the momentum. I'd like to play every game. And if I'm physically able to I will."

"(But) there are principles involved in here: He is the boss and he will make the decisions he wants. At the end of the day you can't go against his decision. Whether I like it or not isn't the issue. Whether I accept it or not is another issue. If you ask me if I like it, no, not at all. But this is a team sport and the well-being of the team goes beyond any individual. The boss is the one who makes the decisions; sometimes you don't like them, but you do respect them."
