Goodbye, Jeff Agoos
March 28, 2011
Out of the MLS office comes the news that Jeff Agoos is becoming the league's Technical Director... whatever that means. More importantly, his stay with RBNY is finally, mercifully, over.
Oh, we haven't heard much from Agoos since he was demoted to Scouting Director, but seeing his grimace floating around the team always sent shivers down our spine. This is the man who brought us Leo Krupnik, after all.
So thank you, Jeff Agoos. Thank you for the own goal you scored for Metro while you were with DC (but not for one you scored for DC while playing for Metro). Thank you for getting off the field against Poland in the 2002 World Cup. Thank you for your somewhat adequate play in 2005. Thank you... well, no thank you for ANYTHING you did during your stint as the team's Sporting Director. Seriously, Leo Krupnik. One of the worst defenders in league history. Recommended by Agoos' brother. Six figure salary for a player who couldn't even get on a field, and when he did, got burned time and again.
Leo Krupnik. That is your legacy, Jeff Agoos.
Thank you for leaving.
