It's been a season full of excuses. Every time Metro failed to get a result, something was offered, be it international absences, or injuries, or travel, or the schedule. Well, what was the excuse tonight?
Coming off a solid road victory, Metro looked poised to right the ship with six games left in the season. The starting lineup featured ten players who would be starters if everyone was healthy; the only exception was Chris Albright starting at left back for the injured Roy Miller. It was Salt Lake who was missing important players, and Metro was playing at home, and yet, and yet...
And yet Metro was down 3:0 just 21 minutes into the match.
And yet there is nothing more we want to write tonight. There are no excuses for what an atrocity this team is.
Lineup: Rost, Albright, Ream, Marquez, Solli, Tainio, McCarty, Lindpere, Richards, Rodgers, Henry. Subs: Mendes, Agudelo, Nielsen.
