No surprises on expansion exposed list
November 21, 2011
Metro was allowed to protect eleven players for Montreal's upcoming expansion draft, and did so in the most straightforward way possible. Of the 12 players to start at least two playoff games this year, the only one unprotected was Frank Rost. Four additional players, including Juan Agudelo, did not need to be protected because of their roster status.
Montreal will take only ten players from the league's other 18 teams, so it's quite possible that Metro will leave the draft unscathed.
Protected players: Thierry Henry, Stephen Keel, Joel Lindpere, Dax McCarty, Rafa Marquez, Roy Miller, Tim Ream, Dane Richards, Luke Rodgers, Jan Gunnar Solli, Teemu Tainio, Juan Agudelo (homegrown), Corey Hertzog (Generation adidas), Sacir Hot (homegrown), Matt Kassel (homegrown)
Exposed players: Chris Albright, Stephane Auvray, Mehdi Ballouchy, Bouna Coundoul, Alex Horwath, Mike Jones, Tyler Lassiter, Carlos Mendes, Brian Nielsen, Marcos Paullo, Carl Robinson, John Rooney, Frank Rost, Teddy Schneider
